v0.1.0ChamOS on the web: first public preview

Turn on the permissions you need

ChamOS requests permissions when needed and shows when their status is unknown.

All permissions live on one page, Me → Permissions, and it is the same page on desktop and phone.

No permissions at launch

ChamOS asks for no permissions at launch; it asks for each one only when it is needed.

What happens when one is missing

  • If a permission is required, ChamOS stops the action and explains how to grant it.
  • If a permission is optional, you can continue without it. The permissions page still shows its status.

Rows whose status can't be checked

Some permissions can't be queried by apps (such as notification authorization on macOS). The row shows Unknown · check in system settings and opens the relevant settings when clicked.
