ChamOS for Android release notes

Major version updates to ChamOS for Android.

Nov 6, 2026v0.3.1

Chat search, task queues, and phone reading

Unify chat search, improve remote task queues, drafts, previews, and text selection, and fix navigation and unread states.

One place to search chats

Open the same search panel from the conversation list, groups, topics, and private chats. Filter by conversation or sender and open the matching original text.

Continue after a task finishes

Restore sending when remote tasks complete and retain drafts and attachments through navigation and reconnection, with clearer startup, recovery, stop, and failure feedback.

More consistent reading and navigation

Use one long-press menu, improved text selection and copying, and corrected task entry and return paths that avoid intermediate blank pages.

Prioritize what is on screen

Load the visible list and current conversation first, preserve the window when reading older messages, and reduce catch-up work affecting the first screen.

New features

  • Filter search results by conversation, sender, and content type, with counts for each category.
  • Search from a group, topic, or private chat with that conversation preselected; remove its filter to search more broadly.
  • Find a member's messages in the current conversation directly from their profile.
  • See how many matches exist in other conversations and expand a scoped search in one action.
  • Display SVG figures directly in chats and task conversations, with colors that follow the selected theme.
  • View and use interactive App cards directly inside chat messages.
  • Install an App from an eligible package shared in the conversation when opening one of its cards.
  • App message cards can use different heights for compact readings and larger tables.
  • Forward files from a group folder to other conversations and keep their extensions when saving.
  • HTML pages in conversation folders can load their linked images, videos, and other nearby resources.
  • Open shared files directly in the matching tab of a chosen App.
  • Agents can move or delete several conversation-folder files at once and retrieve complete file listings.
  • Choose a spawned task's project and parent independently, or create it as a root task.
  • Agents can view and cancel schedules in their other sessions, including sessions on another device.
  • Set a spawned task's reasoning level, with unavailable choices reported before creation.
  • Agents can change group listening modes through the existing group management tools.
  • Quickly reuse the agent mention from your last sent group message when the composer is empty.
  • Search results show senders' actual avatars, making speakers easier to recognize.
  • Use the notification bell in the conversation list to review requests and unread failures.
  • Mark one topic or all topics as read from the topic-list menu.
  • Choose a compressed screenshot or its original in task attachments and preview the selected version.
  • Remote task attachments show confirmed upload progress and can resume from completed parts after a connection loss.
  • When the original task record is missing and recovery is available, continue in a new engine session while retaining history and the draft.
  • Task agents with identical names in a conversation gain number suffixes to distinguish them.
  • Archive an agent with removal from groups and contacts, while retaining task history, files, and configuration when restoring it.
  • Use one chat-search panel from the phone conversation list and individual conversations.
  • Connect cloud storage so agents can work with files within the authorized scope.

Improvements

  • Follow sending, startup, recovery, activity, and failure through one status line and timer, without duplicate retry actions.
  • Ordinary pending messages stay in their conversation position; confirmation removes only the sending indicator.
  • Text, attachments, forwards, and App packages share consistent pending-send and failure recovery behavior.
  • Inputs submitted while an agent is busy remain in the pending area after leaving the task page.
  • Successful messages to other sessions appear as the agent's words; failed or partial deliveries retain their results.
  • Consecutive file sends to the same destination appear together, with direct image previews.
  • Process segments retain their own boundaries and timers through completion and history reopening.
  • Task and chat attachments use consistent file references while preserving captions and filenames.
  • Start loading conversation folders earlier and show complete listings in large folders.
  • Apps read larger files in chunks instead of transferring the entire file as soon as it opens.
  • Open the image viewer immediately, displaying an available thumbnail before the original loads.
  • Reserve image space before loading and reuse thumbnails to reduce movement in the conversation.
  • Preserve image zoom and position when the original loads or annotation editing opens.
  • Completed image annotations return to the conversation composer for review before sending.
  • Use consistent kept-file wording and explain the cleanup policy that applies.
  • Match sender-name colors to the palette of their generated avatars.
  • Use consistent, language-aware date and time formatting in lists, messages, and reminders.
  • Present unread and attention states consistently, without keeping read failures in notification counts.
  • Simplify group toolbars and move secondary actions into the overflow menu on narrow windows and phones.
  • Remove unused space for hidden topic controls so names and unread counts fit more naturally.
  • Align profile labels and values while letting long values wrap within their own column.
  • Improve the alignment of composer borders and fades across context and schedule panels.
  • Use a consistent new-task icon and distinguish the task engine from model selection.
  • Remove decorative blinking cursors from assistant replies while retaining real activity status.
  • On Android 12 and later, keep one brand screen throughout startup and show the page as soon as it is ready; earlier versions retain their existing loader.
  • Reduce repeated updates for activity indicators, pause hidden animations, and respect reduced-motion preferences.
  • Keep messages and the composer mounted when entering or leaving selection mode to reduce stalls.
  • Reduce unnecessary scroll measurements at the latest messages while preserving pagination anchors.
  • Reduce repeated work in long replies and history recovery for better responsiveness across concurrent tasks.
  • Reduce idle phone-host scans while catching up on messages after reconnection.
  • Prioritize the current list and conversation when returning to the foreground during a large sync.
  • Reduce repeated reads for unopened tasks, group membership state, and assistant panels.
  • Trim the Android package to the runtime contents needed by supported devices.
  • Show a compact remaining-credit notice above the composer with a recharge action.
  • Explain exhausted credits inside the conversation with a single recharge link.
  • Keep non-expiring credit balances beside their labels, with wrapping on narrow screens.
  • Explain the required client update when an App needs a newer supported interface.
  • Recognize text attachments consistently when uploading to folders or sending them to tasks.
  • App details provide clearer descriptions, permissions, screenshots, and release changes.
  • Reduce extra reads before agents accept group messages so read receipts appear sooner.
  • Confirm inserted messages in busy tasks sooner without waiting for a duplicate transcript echo.
  • Read task folders directory by directory and keep files and Apps bound to the task's working location.

Fixes

  • Fixed messages still appearing queued after the agent had received them.
  • Fixed opening a task from search results without jumping to the matching text.
  • Fixed unread badges remaining after opening a conversation or reading to the end of a task.
  • Fixed duplicate message notifications and reminders that continued after a task had finished.
  • Fixed one task failing to start preventing other tasks on the same device from working.
  • Fixed tasks still showing as running or displaying an old failure after interruption, stopping, or restart.
  • Fixed text and attachment drafts being lost when task creation or sending failed.
  • Fixed duplicate tasks being created after leaving and returning during task creation.
  • Fixed some file cards not opening and attachment downloads not resuming after a failure.
  • Fixed blank task history and attachments failing to send after a remote device reconnected.
  • Fixed deleting a project on a sleeping device failing immediately.
  • Fixed outdated device status after a server upgrade, rollback, or reconnection.
  • Fixed very small credit usage displaying as zero and old credit data remaining after switching accounts.
  • Fixed system notifications opening the app without entering the relevant conversation.
  • Fixed returning to a blank or unvisited page after opening a task from a message or notification.
  • Fixed the copy menu covering selection handles and causing the selected range to jump.
  • Fixed several security issues.

Pinned topics, file storage and mobile task updates

Add pinned topics and file storage, expand mobile task and folder actions, and fix queued messages, image uploads and view switching.

New features

  • Pin important topics in their parent group for quick access.
  • File storage shows usage, expiring files and host machines. Adjust temporary retention, clean up your cloud copies and choose temporary or indefinite retention when sending files.
  • Group folders gain multi-select actions, filters, file details and offline-machine notices, including size, type and cloud retention information.
  • Add a pure-white theme and more avatar colors, and revise onboarding.

Improvements

  • Continue the same agent history and draft from projects, conversation lists or tasks, with messages, tools, background commands and child tasks on one timeline.
  • Queued messages wait for the current turn to finish; Insert now adds to the current turn and completed questions and replies remain visible.
  • Reorganize Messages, Partners and Tasks, and show background commands and child tasks on mobile task pages.
  • Distinguish your agents from other people’s agents and clarify listening states. Opening a project group marks topics mentioning you as read while preserving manual unread marks.
  • Show source paths and host machines for projects and folders with duplicate names; use consistent headings, paragraphs, tables and images in folder and App documents.
  • Reorganize assistant profiles, capabilities, connections and devices. Connection preparation can be cancelled, download and authorization states are explicit, and follow-ups return to the corresponding task.
  • Move activity statistics into Usage, reduce repeated updates when switching tabs and background views, and clarify instructions for operating session webpages.

Bug fixes

  • Fix the personal assistant appearing as a project agent’s process transcript and saved history starting an agent unnecessarily.
  • Fix messages received while an agent is busy being overwritten or lost during cancellation, withdrawal or agent exit.
  • Fix image uploads remaining in a waiting state and incomplete older media, with clearer progress, expiry, missing-file and re-upload messages.
  • Fix incorrect input sizes when reopening a conversation and improve horizontal viewing of long output.

Phone permissions, App market and spreadsheet collaboration

Read supported phone data with system permission, update the App market and group folders, and improve assistant tasks, file saving and scrolling.

New features

  • Read supported messages, recordings and photos only when the corresponding system permissions are granted.
  • Open .xlsx files and collaborate with agents on cell edits.

Improvements

  • The App market adds featured, category and installed views. Supported Apps open on phones; folders support subfolders and moving, with recent files, cross-conversation search and location references.
  • Revise assistant onboarding and settings and improve tasks, conversations and projects across devices, including task states and streamed replies. Always-on cloud capabilities remain subject to availability.
  • Use the system Save to dialog to choose a file location, and return directly to ChamOS from machine-approval links.
  • Update attachment upload, forwarding and agent access, and improve the display of tool images, file cards, App pages and task states.
  • Keep the current scroll position when expanding tools and resume automatic following at the bottom; trim font and editor resources.
  • Add backup routes for platform models when upstream capacity is limited.

Upgrade notes

  • Phones and computers collaborating on group files must all update to 0.2.57.
Oct 15, 2026v0.2.54

Animated avatars and mobile PPT collaboration

Add animated avatars and mobile PPT selection, retain answered question cards and fix task flicker, file versions and login states.

New features

  • Agents without photos use bird avatars with running, waiting, error and completion animations. Choose colors and expressions shared between phone and desktop.
  • Open group-folder .pptx files, tap or long-press and drag to select content, and send it to an agent. Changes are saved as a new version of the same file.

Improvements

  • Rename group workspaces to Group folders and direct-chat workspaces to Folders. Open PPT files update when no content is selected.
  • Answered question cards remain at their original message position after reopening. Questions answered in a desktop terminal are marked as answered on another device.
  • Show specific membership, model, credit and login errors once per failure, and retry with another model in the same task.

Bug fixes

  • Fix active tasks briefly showing a blank view and jumping when opened.
  • Fix group-file writes creating duplicates and overwriting previous changes; edits must use the latest version.
  • Fix expired logins appearing as persistent connection failures and startup recovery errors shown before login completes.
Oct 11, 2026v0.2.53

Remote tasks, membership models and mobile fixes

Use SSH-added machines from the phone, answer Code-mode questions and improve task scrolling, model lists and reconnection.

New features

  • View SSH-added machines and start tasks on them from the phone.
  • Answer questions from Codex and OpenCode sessions running in Code mode.

Improvements

  • Show processing status and elapsed time immediately after sending, and nest remote child tasks under their parent with the host machine shown.
  • Show models and upgrade options for the current membership tier. Tasks remain after expiry and can continue with another model.
  • Move conversation, contact, member and topic search into headers, update navigation icons while swiping, replace task deletion with archiving and show download progress in About.

Bug fixes

  • Fix task scroll jumps and text jitter when messages arrive.
  • Fix delayed reconnection after desktop restarts or disconnections and chat updates stopping after backgrounding or changing networks.
  • Fix task option drawers closing after a selection and failing to scroll on short screens.
  • Fix the first attachment upload failing after returning from the system picker and outdated avatars.

Upgrade notes

  • This release cannot communicate with 0.2.52; update phones and computers together.

Private chats get a workspace, and watching sessions on the phone is smoother

Private chats now have a workspace and Apps of their own: tap Workspace in a private chat's header to open the same copy you see on the computer, and Apps with a page of their own that are shared in groups or private chats can now be installed and opened on the phone.

New features

  • Direct chats with people and agents gain their own cloud workspaces shared across desktop and phone. Apps open in the chat sidebar, can be created and shared as cards by agents, and store data in that chat’s workspace.
  • select some text in the workspace and "Copy · Cite" appears beside it, replacing the Copy button that used to sit in the header. Cite puts the text, with a link to the file, into the current chat's composer and folds the App page away; you @ whoever you like and press Send yourself, so what goes out is your own ordinary message.

Improvements

Apps

  • an App shared in a group or a private chat can now be installed and opened on the phone, opening in that chat, as long as it has a page of its own and needs only what the phone can do. Before, only Apps that open group files worked on the phone, and other cards said "This App works in tasks — use it on the computer."; now only an App that needs a computer's abilities says "This App needs what only a computer has — use it on the computer."
  • Sort workspace files by modification time and show creator and update details in one scroll area. Move Open with, rename and delete into row menus with deletion confirmation; wider panes use a table with a sticky header.

Chat

  • when picking members for a new group chat, People now come first and Agent after, so you no longer scroll past a long list of agents to find people.
  • when someone asks to join a group that needs approval (for example, on behalf of an agent), the group owner and admins used to see it only after reopening New requests. The red dot on Contacts and the join request under New requests now appear straight away.
  • a wide table in chat or in a session now fades at its right edge while there is more to the right, and the fade disappears once you scroll to the end. It is not shown when the system WebView is too old.

Watching sessions on your computer

  • when you expand a turn, its tool calls are listed card by card right away, without another "N tool calls" fold to tap.
  • an MCP call waiting for your approval now has "MCP server · tool" as the card title, with what this call passes in on the line below, so you can see what it is about to do before approving. In Codex sessions the title used to be a long "MCP request from …" line.
  • a child session that an agent starts in another project also sits under its parent session, and its row names the project it is in.

On the phone

  • the settings under Me are now grouped, with a divider between groups, matching the groups on the computer.

Bug fixes

Chat

  • when searching messages in a chat, the matching word sat on a line of its own, splitting one sentence into three lines. It now stays on the same line as the words around it.
  • a message starting with "> " (such as a passage cited into the chat, or an agent's reply that opens with a quote) was taken apart into a small quote strip plus the text, and file links in it showed their raw text. It is now shown as Markdown; the composer's own reply quote works as before.
  • after opening Group announcement or Group members from group settings, the ← at the top left and the back button went straight back to the chat, skipping group settings. They now return to group settings first, and the next press goes back to the chat.
  • with a long bio on a member's profile card, Group role and Remove from group were pushed off the screen where the group owner could not reach them. The whole card can now be scrolled up.
  • with a long note on a friend request or a join request, the details did not show who sent it. The avatar, name and ChamOS number now stay at the top, the note scrolls in its own box, and the buttons stay at the bottom.

Watching sessions on your computer

  • a long card waiting for your answer (for example, three questions at once) covered the whole screen, so nothing scrolled and the first question was out of reach. The card now comes after the last message and scrolls with the rest.
  • a card waiting for your answer disappeared after you left the session and came back, or reopened ChamOS. It is still there now.
  • after a Claude Code session was compacted (/compact), a large bubble from you appeared on the phone, holding the summary meant for the model. It is no longer shown.
  • in a Work-mode session, a message you sent from the phone while the agent was busy disappeared when you left the session page and came back, and reappeared only once the agent took it. It now stays queued, the same queue the computer shows, and deleting it on the computer removes it from the phone too.
  • single line breaks in an agent's reply were swallowed, so a poem written one line per sentence ran together into one paragraph. Line breaks now show as they do on the computer.
  • a thinking row expanded for the first time stayed blank until you folded and expanded it again. It now fills in the first time.
  • a thinking label was squeezed down to "Th…" by the summary after it. The summary now gives way first when space runs out.
  • the extra indent and the large blank space above and below thinking rows and the cards for messages sent to the agent are gone.
  • tool card names are no longer cut down to things like "r..", and no longer repeated in the grey text after them. An App's tool shows the tool that actually ran, in Codex sessions too, and MCP tools show just the tool name instead of a long prefix.
  • the model drawer could not be scrolled when there were more models than fit on screen, and the Reasoning effort row below was pushed out of it. You can now scroll to the last model, and the drawers for choosing the engine, model and permission mode when creating a session work the same way.
  • when you picked several images at once for a session on the phone, the attachments were squeezed into thin strips: names, ×, the failure reason and Retry were all hidden, so a failed one could neither be seen nor removed; on a slow connection, several images sent together could all fail. Each attachment now keeps its own width in a row you can swipe sideways, with its × and Retry, and the images upload one after another, so they get through on a slow connection too.

On the phone

  • when sharing dozens of files into ChamOS from another app, the file list at the top of the Send to page pushed the search box and the chat list off the screen, so you could not choose where to send them. The file list now takes at most 30% of the screen height and scrolls within itself, and text and images shared along with the files are no longer squeezed out.

Upgrade notes

  • Re-select the default App for group files once in Open with and check Always use this App.
  • Apps written for the old interface cannot be read in this version; their cards in chat say "This App package cannot be read.". To keep using one, ask an agent to rewrite it for the new interface.

Share with WeChat, and the phone's task page matches the computer

Messages can be shared to WeChat and other apps from Forward, and text, images and files from other apps can be sent into ChamOS.

New features

Sharing with other apps

  • when forwarding messages, the top of the Forward page has "Share to other apps", which sends text, images and files to WeChat and other apps; several selected messages can be shared together. Voice messages and cards cannot be shared.
  • Share in WeChat or another app, or "Open with" → 发送到 ChamOS (Send to ChamOS) on a file, brings text, images and files into ChamOS: pick a chat and the content goes into its composer (text after your draft, files as attachments waiting to be sent), and you press Send when ready. A single file can be up to 100 MB.

Chat

  • Add six work-status reactions. Reaction notifications inform agents without starting another task.
  • Contacts → New requests now lists your request history, sent and received together, with each row's status; tap a row for details.

Topics

  • the topic page shows the source group's running-status bar; tap an agent to @ it in the topic's composer, long-press for details.

Watching sessions on your computer

  • the session composer takes attachments. Files upload to the computer the session runs on, with progress and a retry if an upload fails, and you can send attachments without text.
  • you can answer questions asked in Claude Code's Code-mode terminal right from the phone. For a question the phone cannot answer, the card says from the start to answer it in the terminal or on the computer, instead of showing buttons that would fail, and it no longer claims a question was answered when it was not.

Apps

  • The group workspace becomes a built-in App for file management and saved Open with choices. Markdown and JSON use the built-in reader, narrow panes default to preview and each group retains its open files and Apps.
  • App cards shared in a group can be installed, updated and opened on the phone too, with the same rules as on the computer: an App that asks for no permissions installs straight away, one that does asks for your consent first, and a new version from the same publisher that asks for nothing more updates on its own. Messages an App sends for you are marked "Sent for you by the “X” App".

Improvements

Chat

  • switching back to a chat opens at where you left off, and scrolling up through history no longer jumps now and then.
  • long-pressing a message now opens a sheet from the bottom: a row of reactions at the top, then Reply and the same actions as the right-click menu on the computer; the back button closes the sheet first. Tapping a message no longer leaves the floating "😊 ↩ ⋯" toolbar behind. In multi-select, the action bar at the bottom wraps on narrow screens and its buttons are easier to hit.
  • Use one image viewer across chat and tasks, with thumbnail transitions, point-centered zoom, arrow-key navigation and width-fitted long images.
  • tapping a video plays it right away, and other attachments go to the system's "Open with". File previews are left through a back button at the top left, like other pages.
  • in the running-status bar, tapping an agent @s it in the composer and long-pressing shows what it has been doing; the card no longer flickers open and shut. The card shows what the agent has been doing recently, in time order, instead of only what it did for this chat; a message from somewhere you cannot see shows as "A message from somewhere else".
  • the member list, group announcement and history now open as full pages on the phone, instead of a narrow panel that squeezed messages down to one character per line, and member profile cards open from the bottom instead of falling off the screen.
  • Search contacts by pinyin, original name, full ChamOS ID or group ID, with categorized and highlighted results, keyboard selection and direct ID lookup for unmatched numbers.
  • New Agent in Contacts now takes you to the Tasks tab to choose which computer to create it on.
  • group and topic names have an edit button next to them, so you can rename groups and topics on the phone.

Topics

  • a topic opens as a full page over its group, with a back button at the top left, instead of sharing the screen with the group half and half.

Watching sessions on your computer

  • the session list matches the computer's sidebar: a separate Pinned section, sessions grouped by project, and child sessions under their parent (expanded by default). Pinning, renaming or archiving on the phone or the computer shows up on both at once. Work-mode sessions are also ordered by latest activity.
  • the tabs follow your finger when you swipe between them, and all four can be reached. The session page has a "⋯" at the top right; the session list and the page header name the agent; and scrolling to the top loads earlier turns automatically.
  • thinking and steps fold the same way as on the computer: while the agent is thinking you see how long and a live preview, then a summary, with the full text a tap away; a turn's steps sit under a heading with the time taken, open while running and folded when done. GLM's thinking in Codex sessions, which used to be missing entirely, now shows too.
  • choosing a model works as on the computer, with your own models and ChamOS's models in two groups and the price multiplier shown; you can switch between the two within a session, and after you confirm, the current turn stops, the model changes and the conversation continues.

Apps

  • Rename extensions to Apps and add My Apps and the market to the sidebar. Support pinned pages, drag sorting and badges, and remove the old library extension tab.

Other

  • the usage log on the Usage page now shows cache reads and cache writes under Tokens.

Bug fixes

Chat

  • "⋯" → History in a group chat opened blank. It works now.
  • "⋯" → Settings in a direct-message header now opens that chat's own settings (mute, pin, search, clear). In a direct message with an agent it used to open the management page for the agent's whole account; agent settings now open from the name in the header.
  • an @ right after a letter (for example "detail@Claude 84") did not count as a mention, so the message reached no one. It now counts; an email address such as [email protected] still does not. With both Claude and Claude 2 in a group, "@Claude 2" used to reach both; it now reaches only Claude 2.
  • the profile card of someone else's agent showed a Message button that did nothing. It is no longer shown, and if a chat cannot be opened you are told so.
  • when the last message in a chat was an image or a file, the chat list preview showed the attachment's raw text and download link. It now shows the file name.
  • long sender names in groups and topics pushed the line off the screen; group names in group settings and names in contact details were cut off; and the status in an agent's settings header was squeezed into a narrow vertical strip. Things are now truncated or wrapped as they should be.
  • with ChamOS in the background, new messages in the chat you had open last were not notified and were marked as read. A chat now counts as seen only when it is actually on screen with ChamOS in the foreground.

Topics

  • after going back from a group to the chat list and tapping one of that group's topics, only the group opened, not the topic. The topic opens now.

Watching sessions on your computer

  • sending a message from the phone while the agent was working failed. It is now queued and delivered when the turn ends.
  • the page header could show Idle while the session was running, and after the computer was briefly unresponsive, a red "could not open the timeline" box stayed up even though the timeline was fine. It now catches up on its own and withdraws the message once it has.
  • after you sent a message and the agent replied, both sat at the bottom edge of the screen under the "back to bottom" button. The view now follows new messages while you are at the bottom and stays put while you are scrolled up. The "back to bottom" button is now solid instead of transparent in the light theme.
  • after creating a session, the first message vanished for a moment and reappeared as the session page opened, and the header status went blank briefly. It now stays put. When you send a message, it appears as soon as you press Send, without waiting for the agent on the computer to start.
  • a child session's reply to its parent showed on the phone as a long block of code. It now shows as a card, as on the computer. Messages that reach a busy agent also show as entries of their own, and the message you just sent no longer disappears from the screen.
  • if a session's first start failed and it was then started again, its approval requests never reached the phone. They do now.
  • in the English interface, a computer's row said "1 sessions". It now uses the singular.

Apps

  • Apps on the phone did not pick up ChamOS's theme colours, so buttons had no borders and did not look pressed when tapped. They now match the computer.

On the phone

  • Android's back button steps back one layer at a time: first the sheet, menu, image viewer or multi-select on top, then the topic page, a settings detail page or a file opened from the workspace. On Contacts sub-pages (such as New requests) it no longer exits ChamOS, and in topics and group settings it no longer skips past the group to the chat list.
  • the time range on the Usage and Activity pages wrapped onto two lines on narrow screens; month labels on the activity heatmap piled up; a wrapped line in the device list started with a stray "·"; and card titles, buttons and the invite link on the Usage page spilled out of their cards. All fixed.

Other

  • Fix signing out on one device also signing out other devices.
  • when renewing your sign-in found the server busy, ChamOS kept retrying in the background, more and more often. It now backs off and keeps you signed in.

Upgrade notes

Sharing with other apps

  • long-pressing Forward in WeChat to send to ChamOS is not possible, because WeChat does not hand that kind of forward to other apps.

Chat

  • the "Replies without being named: …" line at the top of the member list is gone; each agent's row shows Active / Passive instead.

Chats open at the latest message, and group settings are redesigned

Opening a chat with unread messages now lands on the latest message, with a "↑ N new messages" label pointing to the first unread, and opening a chat no longer flashes blank.

Improvements

Chat

  • opening a chat with unread messages now lands on the latest message, just like a chat you have already read, instead of flashing blank, dropping to the bottom and then jumping back to the first unread. When the first unread message is above the screen, a "↑ N new messages" label appears at the top right of the message area; tap it to jump to that message and highlight it.
  • the group members panel was redesigned so that everything about members happens there. You can invite members from its title bar, search by name, owner, engine, model or device, and tap a row to open the profile card, where you can send a message or a whisper, change the group role, switch Active / Passive or remove the member. Owners and admins can also act directly from the "⋯" at the end of each row. The unclear "In N conversations" label is gone.
  • Organize group settings into profile, chat and management pages; management is limited to owners and admins. Settings apply immediately, rules and descriptions have separate editors, and leaving or dissolving a group requires confirmation.
  • join requests moved to Contacts → New requests → Groups, next to friend requests, with a badge on the entry. With Agents need approval to join on, agents added by regular members also wait there for the owner or an admin to accept.
  • Contacts now opens with only People and Groups expanded, and the agents under each device are collapsed. Everything expands while you search, so nothing is missed.
  • Use consistent approval, answer, plan-review and attention states across devices. Show Background running when child tasks or commands continue after a turn ends.
  • the note you have an agent write when it contacts a friend now appears in the group as the agent's first message the moment the friend accepts, so it does not need to be sent again.

On the phone

  • the settings pages under "Me" share one consistent layout. On the Devices page, host names, versions and how long a device has been offline are no longer cut off; the language picker and the device filter on the Activity page are taller and easier to hit; each item on the Permissions page sits in a card with its status and a "›" at the end; and the About page shows the version, release notes and check for updates as rows in a card.
  • when you watch an agent session running on your computer, the status in the page header follows the latest status on the computer, instead of staying as it was when you opened the page, and it no longer claims Running while the computer is offline. "Waiting for you" used to be red and is now yellow, and notification banners say what the agent is waiting for, showing the session name followed by, for example, Needs your answer.
  • when an agent on your computer needs your approval, chat and Contacts on the phone now show Needs your approval instead of just Running.
  • when you create a task on your computer from the phone, reasoning effort lists the levels the chosen ChamOS model really supports.

Bug fixes

Chat

  • when you opened a chat, the message area stayed blank for a fraction of a second before anything appeared. The latest messages now show as soon as it opens.
  • when someone reacted to your message with an emoji, the reaction sat at the far left of the message column instead of under your bubble. It now sits against the bubble.
  • sharing your own agent with friends from Contacts always failed with an error. It now sends each friend an invitation, and once they accept they join the small group with you and the agent. Friends who are already in that group are told so, friends who declined before are not invited again, and a failure for one friend does not affect the others.

Topics

  • after you @ed an agent in a topic and it read your message, the read status did not update until you left and came back. It now updates at once.
  • a new message in a topic wiped out the older messages you had scrolled up to load. New messages are now appended and what you loaded stays; reactions and deletions in the topic also update live.

Upgrade notes

Chat

  • the passive threshold in group settings is now set for the group only; topic thresholds are no longer listed there one by one.

Usage

  • New accounts claim signup, referral and free-plan credits after desktop login, limited to five accounts per computer. Additional accounts can still pay to use ChamOS. Phone- or web-only accounts receive credits on first desktop login; existing accounts are unaffected.

Messages appear the moment you send, plus a new Usage page

Chat got a full pass: a message shows up as soon as you tap Send, switching chats no longer flashes blank, and a batch of attachment and image problems is fixed. "Me" has new Usage and Activity pages.

New features

Chat

  • Add group-join notices with a clickable member mention. Notices do not wake agents.

Usage

  • "Me" has two new pages, Usage and Activity. Usage is about credits: your membership plan and expiry date, how much of this period's allowance is used, available credits, calls, credits and tokens over a chosen period, spend and rankings per model, and a usage log. Activity is about how much you use ChamOS: sessions, tokens, running time, a heatmap of the past year and usage per engine. You can see all devices together or one at a time.

Improvements

Chat

  • when you tap Send, the composer clears at once and the message appears in the list marked "Sending". Before, a direct message to an agent only showed up after the agent's session had been resumed. If sending fails, the bubble is marked "Not delivered" and can be retried with a tap; the text no longer bounces back into the composer.
  • chat is smoother. New messages and output in other chats no longer refresh the whole current chat, and opening a chat shows the messages already on your phone right away instead of flashing first.
  • the @ list and the / command list open at the cursor, and the close buttons for removing an attachment, leaving whisper mode and cancelling a quote are bigger and easier to hit.
  • Submit agents for group approval and admit them after owner or admin consent. Applicants can view request status, and new-group member selection lists only their own agents.
  • agent status now comes in four states: idle, running, needs approval (yellow) and error (red). In chat, contacts and profile cards an agent with an error shows in red; "Activating" is gone, and you can message an agent while it is starting.

On the phone

  • when you watch an agent session running on your computer, the extra "Agent is working" strip above the composer is gone. The stop button now sits where the send button is: it is a stop button while the composer is empty and turns back into Send once you type, and messages sent while the agent is still running are queued. Loading notices when starting a session now show in the page header.
  • the Tasks tab no longer has an extra back arrow and divider. A group chat's header keeps only "Members" and "⋯", with search, workspace and history moved into "⋯", so the group name is no longer squeezed out by icons.
  • list entries end with a "›", and coming back from a sub-page no longer leaves the row you tapped highlighted. Chat no longer shows the time every time the speaker changes; a time divider appears only when two messages are more than 5 minutes apart.

Bug fixes

Chat

  • when a message was stuck in one chat, newly sent messages in other chats also stayed on "Sending" for up to almost a minute. Chats no longer affect each other.
  • after scrolling the message list up a little, your own message disappeared from the screen once it was confirmed, and in group chats with a long history, sending a message made the whole list flash blank and re-lay itself out. Neither happens now, and sending takes the list back to the latest message.
  • after a network hiccup or with the app in the background, new messages sometimes only showed up together with the next one. ChamOS now catches up on its own, and right away when the app comes back to the front or the network returns.
  • typing quickly occasionally dropped characters, and sometimes a whole message was not sent after you tapped Send, with no notice. This no longer happens.
  • PNG images sent by agents sometimes showed as file cards. They now always show as images, older ones included, and a failed load is retried once automatically.
  • Fix duplicate attachment sends, missing text or reply references and failed sends overwriting newer drafts. Upload attachments concurrently in order, with immediate placeholders and image previews.
  • a message's "More" menu, the emoji panel, member cards and the read list drifted away from their buttons after the list scrolled. They now stay with their buttons and flip to the other side near an edge.
  • Fix mentions for names containing spaces or symbols. Search ignores spaces and punctuation and supports pinyin, initials, ChamOS IDs and contact notes.
  • Fix invitation links bypassing group join rules. Approval groups require a request and invite-only groups reject link-based joins; owner and admin invitations remain available.
  • the contact list's letter index put Chinese names in the wrong groups (for example 周 under B). Names are now grouped by the first letter of their pinyin and sorted by pronunciation within each group.

Topics

  • file attachments in a topic did nothing when tapped. They now open a preview, as in the main chat.
  • the member card opened from an avatar in a topic showed and changed that member's Active / Passive setting in the source group. It now reads and writes the topic's own setting, and members who are not in the topic do not show the option.
  • topic members who had left the source group could not be @ed in the topic. All topic members are now in the list.

On the phone

  • when viewing a Codex session from your computer on the phone, turns that finished while it was closed on the computer were missing content. Everything is there now.
  • every sub-page in Settings was titled "Me". Each now shows its own name.
  • read marks sat at the far left of the list and now sit next to the bubble. The copy button was stretched into a big empty box and the copy icon on the invite card was cut off; both look right now.
  • Settings on the phone showed a "Tray badge" switch that did nothing; it is no longer shown. Buttons also no longer stay in their pressed look after a tap, and the message list no longer shows a permanent thin scrollbar.

Upgrade notes

  • Activity data is collected on each computer and uploaded, so the numbers on your phone may be up to half an hour old; the phone itself uploads nothing. Tokens are currently counted only for Claude Code and Codex.

In-app updates on Android, and opening a chat clears its unread

The Android app now finds new versions on its own and installs them in one tap.

New features

Chat

  • Label group-chat avatars with the agent type and messages with the owner, with distinct loading, removed and unknown-type icons.
  • Agents can invite people or other agents to groups. People accept for themselves; an agent’s owner approves and joins too if needed. Pending invitations appear in New requests → Group invitations, and no group messages are delivered before acceptance.

Topics

  • the topic member panel has "Add topic members". Pick people from the source conversation, confirm, and an invitation message in the topic pulls them in.

Other

  • in-app updates on Android. New versions are found automatically. On Wi-Fi they download in the background; on mobile data you are asked first. Once downloaded, one tap hands the update to the system installer, which asks you to confirm once more. The update notice now sits at the top of the screen instead of covering the bottom tab bar.

Improvements

Chat

  • the running-status bar at the top of a group chat shows your own agents first. The ones that don't fit go into "+N".
  • you can rename your own agent straight from its profile card in a group's member list and from its contact card.

Topics

  • when you type @ in a topic, the topic's participants are listed first and the rest of the source conversation after them. "@all" only notifies the topic's participants and does not pull in people from the source conversation who have not joined.
  • a topic's agent limit (past it, every agent turns "Passive") is now set in the source group's settings, in a new "Topic thresholds" section. A topic can still have its own value. Before, a background refresh could wipe out a number you were halfway through typing. It no longer does.
  • the topic entry under the source message shows how many people actually take part, and updates when someone joins or leaves.

Other

  • the interface was brought in line with one design standard: corner radii, colors, shadows and divider lines now follow one set.

Bug fixes

Chat

  • Fix unread counts being only partially cleared and sidebar badges remaining after opening a conversation.
  • when you @mentioned one agent in a group or topic, other agents set to "Active" also received the message and joined in. Now only the agent you named is woken.
  • a whisper that replied to an agent's message was delivered to that agent. A whisper now goes only to its recipients.
  • adding several agents to a group at once from the member picker did not turn everyone "Passive", even when the total went over the set number. Adding them at the same time now triggers it too.
  • system messages in a group were not delivered to agents according to the Active / Passive rules, and when agents were automatically turned "Passive" for hitting the limit, the ones that had been "Active" never got that notice. Both are now delivered by the rules.

Other

  • the options drawer on phones had no padding, so its content ran to the screen edges. It now has normal padding.

Upgrade notes

  • in-app updates start with this version. The version installed now does not have them yet, so download and install 0.2.48 by hand one last time; after that it updates itself.

Topics rebuilt, and long histories scroll all the way back

A topic is now a separate discussion with its own members that only notifies participants.

New features

  • Create independent topics from group or direct-chat messages, with editable names based on the source message. Whispers and withdrawn messages cannot start topics.
  • Topics have their own members and notify participants only. Source-conversation members can view them and become participants by posting or being mentioned.
  • The source message has a topic entry. It shows the topic name, message count, who opened it and when it was last active. Tap it to enter the topic.
  • Show the three most recent topics below each conversation, with older topics searchable in History → Topics and a filter for participated topics.
  • Add read receipts to topics, showing who has and has not read a message.
  • Switch agents to passive mode when a group or topic exceeds its threshold, five by default. Record the change with an undo action and allow threshold changes in group settings or topic membership.

Improvements

Topics

  • Response modes go from three to two. Passive and active. The old "adaptive" mode behaved the same as active.
  • The members button at the top of a group chat opened group settings. It now opens the member list, with people and agents in separate sections.

Other

  • After a membership or credit change lands, an open session continues without being reopened. It could previously be refused against the old balance until the next renewal.

Bug fixes

Chat

  • Scrolling up in a long group chat stopped at the earliest loaded message. You can now page in both directions, and the message you are reading stays in place.
  • "Jump to latest" did not land on the latest. It now fetches the real latest messages. Jumping to unread and the new-message count after reopening a chat are more accurate, and a new message arriving while you read history no longer moves you.
  • Agents with the same name were indistinguishable in the @ menu. Each agent now shows its owner, and picking one sends only to that one. Previously the other same-named agents were added as recipients too.
  • Fix direct messages and @mentions not reaching listening-only agents after more than 80 unaddressed messages accumulate.

Other

  • The login page, themed icon and notification icon still used the old logo. They now use the new mark.

Compatibility changes

  • The old in-group reply panel is gone. Replies posted in it were moved back into the main chat as replies to the original message, so nothing is lost.
  • The Catch-Up summary at the top of group chats is removed, together with its red "summary generation failed" bar.
